Vintage Design
An elegant and timeless ‘Magneto’ floor lamp designed by Henk Fillekes and manufactured by Ateliers Artiforte in the Netherlands, produced from 1954-1958. This rare lamp was produced for a short period and not that many were made, these were hand assembled and Artiforte was not a big company. This lamp is from the early production circa 1956. The name of the lamp is pretty obvious as this amazing design has one very recognizable feature, the magnetic ball joint. It has a solid steel rod base that is connected to a balancing arm utilizing the ball shaped magnet. The magnet still works perfect, you can use the lamp in many different positions. The lamp is in good original condition with only minor wear from age and usage. Because of the magnet and perfectly balanced design, this lamp is not only beautiful, but also very practical and functional. A very important piece of post war design from the Netherlands. This lamp is checked in our own atelier, cleaned and is suitable for use in the USA. For US usage we provide a converter plug so you can keep the piece completely original.
