Antique Cast Iron Planter With Woman Arms and Plinth

This magnaficent cast iron planter is a one of a kind and from the late 19th century. Both the shape of the arms and the rim pattern are unique. The arms are multifaceted and begin with a regal woman’s face at the top. They then morph into a series of leaves until the bottom. The rim is 3′ wide and unique as well. It consists of an alternarting pattern of a leaf and a second leaf with a scroll. The planter itself (without the base) is an impressive 25″ tall to the handle tops and 36″ wide at the arms. The planter without the arms included is 26 1/2″ wide and 22 ” tall.. The bowl portion of the planter is 22″ wide and 9″ deep. The plinth that the planter stands on is about 15″ square at the base and is 11″ tall. This sale is for both the planter and the plinth.
